Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine / Online workshop: How to prepare for work and studies in multicultural teams?
On December 1st, 2023, students of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, V. N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv participated in online workshops „How to prepare for work and studies in multicultural teams?” organised within the Project 4EU+ for Ukraine financed by the National Agency for Academic Exchange of the Republic of Poland.
During the online session participants had the opportunity to develop practical knowledge and skills in the field of intercultural communication. They discovered following topics:
- Culture as a guide in everyday life – me in the context of my own culture and in the context of diverse cultures.

- How do we perceive the world through the lens of our culture?
- Culture and teamwork – dimensions of culture that affect our cooperation with other people.
- What are your expectations and assumptions towards various academic and professional situations and how culture can influence it?
- Tips and tools that facilitate intercultural communication and help to navigate intercultural misunderstandings.
- Is it possible to be prepared for an encounter with every culture out there? How to handle surprising situations?
Attending the session shall allow the participants to be more confident while communicating with a culturally diverse audience and motivated to enhance the intercultural dialogue in the academic and professional environment. Insight from the session will be useful not only in academic life, but also in future professional careers as well as in private situations such as traveling abroad and holidays.
