Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine II / Student Conference, 01-03.12.2024
At the beginning of December, representatives of student unions of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, V. N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv came to Warsaw to participate in a student conference, organised within the project „Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine II”, funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange of the Republic of Poland. The Ukrainian students were joined by the representatives of the student unions of 4EU+ members – Sorbonne University, Heidelberg University, Charles University, University of Copenhagen and University of Milan. The Student Union of the University of Warsaw hosted the event.
The programme of the conference was prepared by students themselves during online meetings.
On Monday, December 2nd, the participants gathered in the Faculty of History builiding. In the agenda, they planned (among other things):
- Student Government Structures and Works – 10 min presentation by each University + 5 min Q&A of each University
- Tour of the UW Campus
- 4EU+ Presentation
- Speed FriendingPanel Discussion: Digitisation and Student Government
The following day, December 3rd, was filled with workshops: „AI: Where Are We and Where Are We Going – Responsible Use” and „Time Management as a Student” (this one was prepared by the students of V. N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv), followed by a wrap-up session and cultural programme at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art.
During two intensive days students had a chance to get to know each other better, discuss issues important in the context of student governance, and they also found time for entertainment and cultural activities. In conclusion they eagerly decided to repeat the event in the future, hoping for even greater attendance and a more extensive programme.
