Number of scholarships and length of stay: 2 full year scholarships or 4 one-semester scholarships (subject to the number of applications)

Who can apply: undergraduate and unified master’s students (completed first year of studies required), graduate students

Period of stay: winter semester or full academic year 2025/26

Eligible units/fields of study: all

Financial conditions:

  • Students are exempt from tuition fees at the host university;
  • Visa, travel, insurance, study materials, subsistence and accommodation costs are paid by the student;
  • It is possible to apply for a JASSO scholarship (via a Japanese university) – to be consulted by the host university after nomination.

Required documents:

  1. Consent Form, signed by Head of the Educational Unit (EUH) or Mobility Coordinator;
  2. Certificate of grade average from the entire period of study, issued by the Student’s Office at the unit (minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale);
  3. Motivation letter justifying the choice of the receiving institution and indicating the chosen unit at the host university;
  4. Curriculum Vitae including information on academic achievements, distinctions, awards etc.
  5. Language proficiency certificate (at least):
    • English (all candidates): TOEFL iBT – 79 pkt, IELTS – 6.0, TOEIC – 780, CEFR – B2 or CET-6 – 485;
    • Japanese (students intending to take university courses instructed in Japanese) – JLPT N1.
  1. Statement of bank account balance or scholarship. (JPY 500,000 for one-semester or JPY 1,000,000 for a full academic year).

Documents required by the foreign University – according to the information available at https://nupace.iee.nagoya-u.ac.jp/en/apply/procedures.html:

  1. Study plan;
  2. Official transcript of academic records;
  3. Official certificate of enrolment as a student;
  4. Letter of Reference;
  5. Score sheet of internationally-recognised language proficiency test;
  6. Health certificate;
  7. Copy of the information page of the applicant’s passport;
  8. Identical photograph;
  9. Declaration of Applicable Specific Categories (applicable only to graduate and research students);
  10. Statement of bank account balance or scholarship.

Remarks:

  • The receiving institution shall reserve the right to review the exchange enrolment request and make the final decision according the receiving institution’s internal regulations and the legal regulations imposed by the national and/or local authorities.
  • Students take care of the visa on their own in accordance with the procedures of the host country.
  • Students accepted by the receiving institution shall obtain approval for the study programme from the Mobility Coordinator at their home unit at UW. Learning Agreement shall be signed by the student and both institutions within 3 weeks from the beginning of the exchange.
  • Candidates may, at any time, be asked to show original documents providing achievements and received awards.
  • The documents required by the foreign university should be submitted by 15.03.2025 r. through the application system of Nagoya University in the indicated files formats.
  • Additional information will be sent to nominated students.
  • Before departure, students accepted by the receiving institution are obliged to conclude an agreement with the University of Warsaw (at the International Relations Office).

Application deadline30 January 2025, until 23:59 Warsaw time zone. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Application (one e-mail containing all required documents shall be sent to the email address bwz.nabory.wymiana@uw.edu.pl from the candidate’s university email address (§3 Order of the Rector of UW no. 279 from 10th December 2020). Applications sent from other email addresses will not be considered.
