Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine II / AI for Higher Education Institutions

                  

 

As a part of the Kick-Off Meeting of the Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine II project, the guests from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, V. N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv had the opportunity to participate in an all-day workshop „AI: practical hands-on learning of Large Language Models, AI tools and outline of ethics. Where we are and where we are heading”, conducted by Dr. Colin W. P. Lewis.

 

Description

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force, reshaping industries, economies, education, and possibly cultural norms. This workshop highlights the range of AI tools available.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of AI’s vast potential, its staggering economic significance, and the pivotal role that academia plays in shaping this transformative industry.

 

Dr. Colin W.P. Lewis, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Warsaw Faculty of Management. Lead of AI for Executives. AI Research Scientist at AGISI (Artificial General Intelligence Sentinel Initiative). Holds 2 patents in AI applications and advises governments and businesses on AI implementations.

Dr. Lewis developed an AI educational / tutoring conversational system, interactive video and an AI music system utilising Deep Learning for music correction and streaming improvement (Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube). He was previously Head of Complex Projects and a Data Scientist with Palantir Technologies implementing Palantir AI systems in Banks and Government institutions.

His AI and Data Science Research is frequently used in mainstream media and by governments, corporations, and institutions to understand developments in advanced technologies. Has published articles in Harvard Business Review, the Financial Times, Bloomberg and many others. He holds a Ph.D. in Behavioural Economics & Data Science from the London School of Economics.

In addition to academia, Dr Lewis has worked at the AXA Group responsible for global strategic acquisitions, IT infrastructure and compliance with SEC regulations. Building and stock listing a start-up software company as co-founder and CEO and Director of a brokerage with BP, Shell, Texaco/Chevron, Lazard Brothers and Booz Allen Hamilton.
