Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine / Summary meeting & presentation of an e-book for librarians and academic staff “Open Science – An Introductory Guide”

 

                  

 

Just before the Christmas break, between December 18th and 19th, representatives of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, V. N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv participated in a summary meeting, closing the project „Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine„, funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange of the Republic of Poland.

First day was dedicated to presentation of project results and discussion about future plans. The effect was a few pages of notes and a long list of ideas for future cooperation. Some events were so successful that it was decided to repeat them in the next year; other would need some modifications to be even more helpful.

The next day the participants spent in University of Warsaw Library. First, they had a guided tour of the premises. Next, they took part in the presentation of the e-book for librarians and academic staff “Open Science – An Introductory Guide”.

The publication is a joint effort of librarians from the Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and the University of Warsaw (Poland), edited by Zuzanna Wiorgórska and Anna Wołodko and translated to Ukrainian by Kateryna Tkachuk. It is an intellectual contribution to rebuilding Ukraine as soon as possible and strengthening its research potential – Open Science holds particular importance for the country, especially in the context of the ongoing war and post-war circumstances.
