Period of stay and length of stay:

  • 23rd – 27th June 2025 – mandatory online activities
  • 28th June – 5th July 2025 – EIB course

Number of scholarships3 (UW preselects 6 candidates and EIB selects 3 persons)
Who can apply: Master’s degree students (second-cycle) & Law (4th and 5th year), maximum age 30 years old
Eligible units/fields of study: programmes related with the following fields:

  • economics
  • finance
  • management/business
  • political science and related fields
  • climate and sustainable development
  • urban development
  • development studies
  • law*
  • engineering*

* with experience or interest in business application

The participants shall have a substantial understanding of the functioning of European institutions and a basic understanding of banking and finance as well as show interest in sustainability, climate change and the environment, innovation, project & infrastructure implementation, and development.

Financial conditions:

  • Students are exempt from attendance fees;
  • Costs of stay – accommodation and meals are covered by EIB;
  • Travel expenses, visa (if applicable) and insurance costs are covered by the participant;

Required documents:

  1. Consent to the participation in summer school, signed by Head of the Educational Unit (EUH) or Mobility Coordinator.
  2. Certificate of grade average from the entire period of study, issued by the Student’s Office at the unit – at least 4,0 (in Polish or English).
  3. Application Form filled out by the Candidate in English.
  4. Curriculum Vitae in English with a list of achievements, distinctions, awards, information on extracurricular and social activities.
  5. Proof of the English language skills at least B2 – a language certificate or a document issued by the teacher or the unit of the Candidate.
  6. Maximum 30 years of age until the end of the summer school

 Evaluation criteria:

  1. Justification for participation/motivation (0-10 points)
  2. Average grade – at least 4,0 (0-2 points)
  3. Scientific achievements, distinctions, awards, extracurricular and social activities (0-5 points)
  4. Knowledge of English – at least B2 (0-3 points)

About the Summer School:

Brochure Summer School EIB 2025
The EIB Summer School invites a group of 80 Master’s students to join an online and onsite programme delivering first-hand information about the activities of the EU Climate Bank and its role in the implementation of the European Green Deal. The academic programme includes online sessions, plenary lectures and technical seminars with four tracks focussing on either the financial, political, technical or developmental aspects of EIB activities. The pedagogic approach focusses on interaction, discussion, and engagement with the faculty and each other.

Remarks:

  • Candidates may be requested at any time to show original documents confirming their achievements, distinctions and awards.
  • Students are responsible for arranging the visa on their own – if applicable.
  • Summer school is for students – UW student status is required throughout the summer school period. The rule also applies to final-year students.

Application deadline:  2nd April 2025 until 08.00 am Warsaw time zone. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
