University of Caen, France – Summer course of French language for students

Number of scholarships:  2 places for course of French language

1 place in dates 16-27 June 2025, 2 weeks

1 place in dates 30 June-18 July 2025, 3 weeks

Who can apply: students of minimum 2nd year of first-cycle studies or long-cycle studies, students of second- cycle studies with confirmed knowledge of  French at minimum B1 level

Eligible units/fields of study: all units of University of Warsaw

Financial conditions: free of charge participation in the language course and accommodation. The costs of the journey to France, insurance  or visa ( if applicable), food, participation in cultural programme are not covered.

Dates and programmes:

16-27 JUNE 2025, 2 WEEKS

1st week: intensive language training for all the participants (22 hours 30min)

2-gi tydzień: one of 3 modules to choose from (22 hours 30min) :

  1. French Language and Culture
  2. Memory and Future of the European Union
  3. FFL Didactics- course for future teachers of French as a foreign language ( for this module it will be required to confirm that the participant attends studies preparing for the profession of teacher of French as a foreign language)

30 JUNE-18 JULY 2025, 3 WEEKS

The participants take part in morning and afternoon classes.

Morning: French language practice for all the participants 45 hours.

Afternoon: „Culture and Heritage” 30 hours  with one of the modules to choose from

  1. French society and culture+ French gastronomy
  2. History in Normandy+ Norman Architecture+ Writers from/ in Normandy

Required documents in Polish or English:

  1. Consent Form, signed by Head of the Educational Unit (EUH) or Mobility Coordinator;
  2. Motivation letter justifying the participation in the course and indicating the chosen dates and courses;
  3. Certificate of grade average from the entire period of study, issued by the Student’s Office at the unit – at least 3,49
  4. Certificate of proficiency in French of at least B1 level or confirmation from a teacher of French at the University of Warsaw

Other required documents in French and English:

  • Motivation letter in French justifying the participation in the course and indicating the chosen dates and courses
  • Only for students choosing FFL Didactics course in dates 16-27 June 2025–

Transcipt of Records in English or confirmation ( in English)  from the home unit of University of Warsaw that the participant attends studies preparing for the profession of teacher of French as a foreign language

Application deadline:  04 March 2025, until 08:00 pm Warsaw time zone. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Place of submitting applications

Application (one e-mail containing all required documents with subject of email : Caen 2025 Course of French language ) shall be sent to the email address bwz.nabory.wymiana@uw.edu.pl from the candidate’s university email address (§3 Order of the Rector of UW no. 279 from 10th December 2020). Applications sent from other email addresses than university email will not be considered.
