Number of scholarships and length of stay: 2 one-semester or full-year scholarships

Who can apply: undergraduate and unified master’s students (completed first year of studies required), graduate students

Financial conditions:

  • Students are exempt from tuition fees at the host university.
  • Visa, travel, insurance, study materials, subsistence and accommodation costs are paid by the student.

Required documents:

  1. Consent Form, signed by Head of the Educational Unit (EUH) or Mobility Coordinator;
  2. Certificate of grade average from the entire period of study, issued by the Student’s Office at the unit (minimum 2.3 out of 3.0);
  3. Motivation letter justifying the choice of the receiving institution and indicating the chosen unit at the host university;
  4. Curriculum Vitae including information on academic achievements, distinctions, awards etc.
  5. Certificate/proof of the language skills (at least):
    • JLPT N2 – for candidates to College of Japanese Language and Japanese Culture;
    • JLPT N1 – for candidates for Master’s Program in Service Engineering;
    • B2 – for all other candidates.
  6. Statement of financial resources in the amount required by the partner university (at least 600,000 JPY for one semester or 1,200,000 JPY for a full academic year).

  1. Formal Letter of Request for Acceptance;
  2. Official Transcript of Academic Records;
  3. Official Certificate of Enrollment;
  4. Copy of Passport;
  5. JLPT Certificate of Result and Score (only if you have any);
  6. Certificate of Your Staying in Japan;
  7. ID Photo data;
  8. Bank Balance Certificate.

Remarks:

  • The receiving institution shall reserve the right to review the exchange enrolment request and make the final decision according the receiving institution’s internal regulations and the legal regulations imposed by the national and/or local authorities.
  • Students take care of the visa on their own in accordance with the procedures of the host country.
  • Students accepted by the receiving institution shall obtain approval for the study programme from the Mobility Coordinator at their home unit at UW. Learning Agreement shall be signed by the student and both institutions within 3 weeks from the beginning of the exchange.
  • Candidates may, at any time, be asked to show original documents providing achievements and received awards.
  • The documents required by the foreign university should be submitted by 07.03.2025 through the University of Tsukuba application system in the indicated files formats.
  • Additional information will be sent to nominated students.
  • Before departure, students accepted by the receiving institution are obliged to conclude an agreement with the University of Warsaw (at the International Relations Office).

Application deadline22 January 2025, until 23:59 Warsaw time zone. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Application (one e-mail containing all required documents shall be sent to the email address bwz.nabory.wymiana@uw.edu.pl from the candidate’s university email address (§3 Order of the Rector of UW no. 279 from 10th December 2020). Applications sent from other email addresses will not be considered.
