To study as an Erasmus/Exchange student, the University of Warsaw has to receive nomination from your home institution. Please contact your International Relations Office about the possibility to apply for an exchange at UW.
Once we receive the nomination, we will contact you about the details of your exchange.
Each student has to submit an online application.
- Winter semester – by 15 May
- Summer semester – by 15 November
Once your application is processed and accepted, the Confirmation of Acceptance will be uploaded to your application at the IRK website within 10 working days.
When your online application is accepted you should prepare your Learning Agreement “Before the mobility” (part 1). Once the document is signed by you and the coordinator at your institution, send it to your Mobility Coordinator. Please keep in mind that the document can be signed only after you are admitted to UW.
Each student is required to have a health insurance valid for the whole duration of his/her stay at the University of Warsaw. You will be asked to show a proof of your insurance upon arrival. It is recommended to have a confirmation of the insurance in English or Polish.
European Health Insurance Card is accepted.
All non-EU/EEA citizens should contact the Polish Consulate or Embassy in their country of residence. Detailed information about the visa procedure is available on the website of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Incoming students can apply a Mentor – a local student who meet you at the airport and help you during your first days in Warsaw. You will receive a link to the application before the semester starts. The Mentor programme is run by the Erasmus Student Network of the University of Warsaw.
